Introduction
Online frauds are rising rapidly. Keeping your FraudLabs Pro account secure is crucial as it holds sensitive fraud insights and customer data. To protect your account from unauthorized access, we are introducing the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This security feature ensures that only you can access your account even if your login credentials have been compromised.
In this article, we will discuss what Two-Factor Authentication is, why it’s important, and how you can enable it to secure your FraudLabs Pro account.
What is Two-Factor Authentication
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security measure that requires two different types of verification to log in to your account:
- Your account password
- A one-time code generated by an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator)
Each time when you log in, you’ll be required to enter your password and a unique, time-sensitive verification code sent to your chosen authentication method. This second layer significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access by ensuring that only someone with your mobile device can log in.
Why Two-Factor Authentication Is Important
Relying on just a password isn’t enough to keep your account safe anymore. Even strong passwords can be stolen through phishing, brute-force attacks, or data breaches. That’s where 2FA comes in.
Here’s why 2FA is essential for FraudLabs Pro users:
Protects against unauthorized access – If someone steals your password, they can’t log in without the second authentication factor which is the OTP code.
Secures sensitive data – FraudLabs Pro handles sensitive information like transaction records, fraud scores, and customer information. 2FA helps to keep them safe.
Prevents internal misuse – In shared or team environments, 2FA limits account misuse or accidental access from unauthorized team members.
Steps to Enable Two-Factor Authentication in FraudLabs Pro
You can enable the Two-Factor Authentication in FraudLabs Pro by following steps below:
1. Log in to Your FraudLabs Pro Merchant Account.
2. Go to Account > Profile.
3.Scroll down to the Two-Factor Authentication section and click on the Turn On Two-Factor Authentication.

4. Use an authenticator app to scan the QR code displayed on your screen. Then, enter the 6-digit code generated by the app and click Turn On.

5. After enabling 2FA, a list of 10 recovery codes will be shown. These codes will only be SHOWN ONCE. Copy or download them and store them securely. These codes can be used if you lose access to your authenticator device.

6. Now, you will see the Two-Factor Authentication section being updated to enabled. You are done.

How to Login With Two-Factor Authentication
After enabling 2FA, logging in to your FraudLabs Pro account will require one more step:
1. Enter your email address and password on the login page.
2. Open the authenticator app and enter the OTP code.

3. Click Sign In.
Note: If you can’t access the app, you may use one of your saved recovery codes. If you lose both your recovery codes and access to the app, please contact our support team for assistance.
How to Disable Two-Factor Authentication
If you wish to disable the Two-Factor Authentication, follow these steps:
1. Log in to Your FraudLabs Pro Merchant Account.
2. Go to Account > Profile.
3. Scroll down to the Two-Factor Authentication section.
4. Click on the Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication.

5. A confirmation message will appear confirming that you want to disable 2FA. Click Disable.
6. You are done.
Important: Disabling 2FA removes a vital layer of security from your account. Only proceed if absolutely necessary, and consider re-enabling it as soon as possible.
Conclusion
Setting up the Two-Factor Authentication in FraudLabs Pro is simple and only takes a few minutes. Once enabled, it helps to protect your account from unauthorized access, keeps sensitive data secure, and reduces the risk of internal misuse. Therefore, it is highly recommended to set up Two-Factor Authentication as an additional security layer to your account.
